Bedroom Makerover on a Budget

It was time for a change from Americana style to something a little more soothing.

A quick white paint job on the picture frames and a little decluttering cleaned up this side of the room.

My mom surprised me with my baby blessing dress this summer.

It is very special and can't be hidden any longer.

A lovely piece period from the thrift store.

I found this beauty waiting for me at the thrift store. 

My first thought was to paint it and antique it.
I like it just the way it is.

Love the art work.

It matches the furniture perfectly!

Lamp Makeover

THURSDAY:  Yeah!  Another Creation!

I grew up with two lamps on top of my piano.  When I got married, my mom gave them to me.  They became our bedside table lamps.  This is what they looked like in their first makeover to fit my Americana room.

Time for a second makeover.

I love spray paint!

New lamp shade redo.

I glued burlap over the shade and added ribbon to the bottom.

HIS Lamp

My hubby is pretty laid back, so when he cringed at the rosettes adorning his shade, I quickly took them off and added them to mine.

He went to bed happy.

Whew!

HER Lamp

So chic tucked into my corner of the room.

Canvas Pillows

TUESDAY:  Yeah!  A Creation!

I saw some big canvasy looking pillows at the quilt store for $30 each.

Ouch!

I copied them and made my own for $2 a piece.

Yeah!

After making my curtains, I had lots of leftover canvas to work with.

I used the seam in the canvas for added decor to my pillows.

Sewed on a couple of buttons.

This is the back side where the pillow slips in.  

It is suppose to overlap but the pillow is just too fluffy.

I wanted some pillows to match the quilt that my hubby picked out for our anniversary gift. 

He has a good eye.

I found some color matching fabric at the store and made these cute pillows using more canvas scraps for the back side.

It is almost Pottery Barn worthy.
