Rags to Quilt

THURSDAY:  Yeah!  Another Creation!

This is my first ever quilt that I made for my son for Christmas.

Until yesterday it was not completely finished.  

It has taken me 6 months to finally finish clipping each square.

I will never attempt such small squares again, but it does look cool!

Old jeans and a favorite football team took the makings of this quilt.

Here they are in rows waiting to be sewn together.

The quilt was thrown into the washer and dryer after the final square was clipped.

This is what came out of my dryer by the time it was dry.

Meet Makayla

Friday:  Creative Friend Friday!

Meet Makayla - my sweet lovely daughter.

She is my little big overachiever.  Among her many creative talents, she enjoys sewing. 

Here she is modeling her jean bag she made for school.

Here she is piecing her first 'Turning Twenty' quilt.

Her wish list includes a serger - that's my girl!

All pieced together.

On the home-ward stretch - binding ever so beautifully.

It looks great on her bed.

Her curtains are cute too.

Due to her example, I have dusted off the old machine and renewed my adventures in sewing.

I (Heart) Pillows

My amazing neighbor friend is a master at quilting. She also loves to share her talent with the rest of us non-quilters. There have been many non-quilters in our neighborhood that have turned to the other side - myself being one of them. Since I am new, I will show what I put together without a tutorial. There was a lot of cutting, sewing and more cutting. They turned out cute. Thanks Jayme.
