Canvas Curtains

THURSDAY:  Yeah!  Another Creation!

Did you know that you can use canvas drop clothes found in hardware stores for curtains?

Yep.

I am embarrassed to show you my make shift curtains - an old bed sheet clipped up with clothespins.  My hubby was after me for months to either make or buy curtains.  I kept telling him that I couldn't just put anything up (like old bed sheets - ha ha), I had to find just the right thing.

I finally did.

Tah Dah!

I used two canvas drop clothes.  There is literally no sewing involved since they are already hemmed.  However,  I wanted to add pretty brown material to the ends, so I cut off the bottom portion of the canvas and sewed the brown strips on the ends.

I folded the top over and clipped them up. 

 I love the ruffled top look.

-sigh-

I used the left over canvas and made a bed skirt to match the curtains.

I just used the old bed skirt as a pattern.

Nice and classy.

Duct Tape Bag

TUESDAY:  Yeah!  A Creation!

Have you noticed the fad in color duct tape?  It's a favorite among teenagers.  Just the other day I stumbled on a site that showed prom dresses made from duct tape.  Check out this site.

Summer Storms

SUNDAY:  Creating T-I-M-E!

 Last week brought a week of summer storms that produced rivers running down our streets.  

The sky created wonderful thunder and lightning shows over and over.

On the last evening, the cool wind swept through our windows and built this rainbow over our heads.

I have loved summer storms since I was a little girl and look forward to them every year.

The other side of this vibrant rainbow.

Capri Sun Bags

THURSDAY:  Yeah!  Another Creation!

I have been sewing these Capri Sun bags for 8 years now.

They are perfect birthday gifts for big and little girls stuffed with goodies, school supplies and girly stuff.

I have made several for teachers and they use them as lunch bags.

Collect a bunch of bags.

My daughter collected them from all her lunch room buddies while in elementary school.  She won't do that now in Jr. High - I am on my own.

Cut a slit at the bottom - wash and dry.

I like to add a pocket for snacks and pencils.

Mossy Wreath

TUESDAY:  Yeah!  A Creation!

This little beauty only took 1/2 hour to make.

I used a green floral wreath from the Dollar Store and some Spanish moss left over from another project.

So my wreath really cost me $1 - yeah!

I covered the wreath with black paper to hide the green.

Hot gluing the moss was kinda tricky. 

I added a paper flower made out of sheet music and a button.

In it's new home.

Sigh.

Cross Stitching

My laundry room was teeny weeny once upon a time.  Then my amazing charming hubby granted me my wish to have a mud room.  He built onto my laundry room using extra garage space and turned this......

into this!

Everyone has plenty of room for coats, sweatshirts and pack backs.  

A place for every shoe. 

My hubby says that this room will sell our home.

I say that this room will keep me from ever selling.

Extending Laundry Space

TUESDAY:  Yeah!  A Creation!

Here's my laundry command center.  

Each child has a basket.  

Wait, I have 5 kids not three.  

Time to expand.

Take down old shelf.

Put up wider shelf and all 5 baskets.

I'm happy.

My kids...not so happy.

A little added prettiness.
