Witchy Silhouette Plates

I stumbled onto this site and LOVED the  Halloween silhouettes.

I wanted to put them onto plates for my little twist.

Robyn from The Pink Peony of Le Jardin is so wonderful to share her witchy images with us. 

   It makes my crafting soooo easy and fast.

I went through my cupboards and found some unused plates that needed to be used.

You can find them at the dollar store or thrift stores for $1.

Already had the paint!

I jumped up for joy when I discovered the purple can in my stash.

Oh, they turned out lovely.

I am amazed what spray paint can do.

How purplicious!

I copied the images from here and sized them to 4x6 and printed them off.

 I cut them out and traced them onto white contact paper to cut out again.

Think of contact paper as the new cheap vinyl - 24 feet for less than $6 at Wal-mart.

A little more cutting and the possibilities are endless... 

Check out this awesome costume made from black sweats and white contact paper.  

It held up all through the school day and Halloween night.

Creepy, huh?

I love how it looks on the plates.

They look just witchy on my plate rake.

Can't wait for Thanksgiving and every season after that!

Halloween Subway Art

I really wanted a  Halloween subway art to hang up, but I didn't want to buy one or design one. Thanks to Jessica on Craftily Ever After, I made one with her free printable she is sharing here (for some reason, my print is different than the one offered on Craftily Ever After.  I don't know why, I do like the other one too).

All I had to do was print it off and rummage through old frames until I found this one with a mat - yeah!

I spray painted the frame black and shabbied it up with a hand sander.

I did have to cut the mat a little larger to fit the print.

I am loving this easy peasy project that cost me my ink.

Glass Etching

My friend taught me how to etch glass.

It was easy.

Print numbers off the computer and trace them onto contact paper.

Make sure you trace them onto the contact paper backwards.

Place contact paper over your glass.

Follow the instructions on the bottle.

I've seen etching spray in a spray can too.

1.  Make sure you apply it in up and down strokes. 

2.  Do not dab as you see above, it will not turn out very well.

3.  Let the etching cream sit for a few minutes.

4.  Wash off the excess and peel off the contact paper.

Tah dah!

My friend made BOO jars.

My leaf jar turned out beautifully.

I traced leaves onto contact paper and placed them randomly on the jar. 

 I then etched the whole jar.  

Give it a try!

BOO Pots

These ceramic pots were $1 a piece at Wal-mart.

I used the cheapest spray paint to paint them black.

I printed out the BOO letters and cut them out.

Taped them onto the pots to paint.

I dabbed cream white acrylic paint over the paper cut outs.

BOO!

Pumpkins are just the right touch.

And an autumn Mum to top it off!

Paper Bag Pumpkins

These paper bag pumpkins have become my prized autumn decor.

Each one is made by one of my little punkins when they were in kindergarten.

Here's the one that started it all.  

From 2001 to 2009.

My collection is complete.

Super easy and fun to make....

-take a brown paper lunch bag and stuff it with old recycled paper or plastic bags 

-tie the top with a rubber band.

-paint the bag and let dry

-tie raffia, pipe cleaner or a ribbon for the top

-name and date the bottom

This pumpkin patch has their own place of honor.

Bewitching Pillows

It's wonderful to have creative friends that will teach you their trade.

Thanks to an amazingly skilled friend, I learned how to piece and quilt these enchanting pillows.

Thrifty Pumpkin Frame

I found these two items at the thrift store.

Frame - $1.50

Pumpkin Hanging - $1

Someone put a  lot of love into this pieced pumpkin wall hanging.

I painted and shabbied the frame up a bit.

I used crumbled packing paper for the back ground.

Then I just stuck the hanging onto the paper.

Now it's finding new love in our home.
