THURSDAY! Yeah! Another Creation!
Look what a day with my mother-in-law and sisters-in-laws produced.
We made our very own Typewriter Key Wall Art for only $15!
The hardware store cut my plywood into 24 x 24 squares.
That's $5 a board.
I wasn't sure how to make the frame so I used a 1x2 board and cut it to resemble a shadow box.
An eight foot 1x2 board was $1 at the hardware store.
Marked the board into 4 inch squares to create 36 squares.
Dragged a chisel down the lines to create grooves.
Used my long lasting Ralph Lauren glaze and toothbrush to get into the grooves.
We played with a variety of brown acrylic paints and watered them down into a stain.
Watered down acrylic paint for the frame.
This is the fun part.
Nikki from dream. design. create was very kind to send me her jpg file of her typewriter key font.
Thank you for sharing!
I printed the file onto cream colored cardstock, cut and glued the circles onto the board with Mod Podge.
Gave the whole board including the frame one final brush of Mod Podge.
Nailed small black nails into all of the corners.
Simple and elegant!
