Framed Spring

I have a high ledge shelf (that I consider my mantel) above my family room that is perfect for seasonal decorating - plus it gets dusted 4 times a year.  A while back ago I saw this cute idea to frame the seasons for a touch of class.

I went to the thrift store (I know, my favorite place to shop) and collected six frames and spray painted them black.  Six frames to use for each season:  Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer.

*cut out seasonal paper to fit the frames
*print the letters in different fonts and enlarge them to 300

*cut the letters out and color them with a black marker to hide the white lines

*mod Podge them onto the paper and let dry

Ta da!

I did switch out the brown 'i' for a lighter paper.
I also like to add children's art work in the frame.

This is my favorite part of the 'Spring' ledge.
I placed stones in the bird nest.

What do I do with the left over paper?

Make napkin holders for my kitchen.

Winter landscape.

Napkin and utensil can holders - great for parties and luncheons.

It's Autumn Time.
